The main goal for Shell Lake School District bus drivers is to get our students to their destination in the safest and timeliest manner possible. We have the same expectations for all students and parents to help make this possible. Some things you can do to help things run smoothly are:
- Be sure your kids are at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time.
- Be sure kids are dressed properly for inclement weather in case the bus runs late due to a mechanical problem, or some other unforeseen incident.
- Please explain the importance of following the bus driver’s instructions and bus rules.
- If your child wishes to get dropped off at a stop other than their normal stop, a signed note with the destination address is required.
- If you have a child in Primary school, it is the bus driver’s responsibility to make sure someone is at home to receive the student. We must have visual conformation that someone is home. If you know that someone will not be home to meet the student before the scheduled bus stop, please call the school at 715-468-7816, so that information can get passed on to the bus driver. If no one is there to receive the child, the driver will bring the student back to the after school program to either, ride the late bus home, or get picked up by the parent.
Please refer to the student handbook for discipline referrals and other important information.
Note: If you have children open enrolled in the district, and you want them to ride the bus, please call the bus garage at 715-468-7763 to make arrangements. We will arrange the safest and closest stop to your house, within the district, for bus pick up and drop off.
Our district bus drivers are very committed, and strive to do the best job possible to insure the safety of our kids. Please don’t hesitate to call the bus garage with problems or praise! Thank you for your support.
