From Principal Heather Cox:
Let me personally welcome you to Shell Lake and share some information about our school - I’m so glad you stopped by! Shell Lake is a warm, caring environment for our students with teachers who are committed to building trust, being positive problem solvers and continually learning as educators.
Shell Lake staff are motivated, positive, growth minded team builders. We believe in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) for collaborating around curriculum, common assessments, weekly learning targets, pacing guides, and data. Our school uses Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) as a behavior management system and as part of our Multi-systems of support for students at Shell Lake. On a regular basis, we use data for the purpose of making informed decisions about students regarding behavior and academics to support students and give them what they need in order to be successful in school.
The mission of the Shell Lake School District is to inspire and support each student to thrive and contribute to society through educational challenges, community engagement, and high expectations.
Our campus is a 4-12 site that will have a brand new facility addition for grades 4K-3 starting in the fall of 2020 thanks to a supportive community and a very successful referendum. We are a small school with roughly 680 students and we are excited to all be under one roof soon. The Shell Lake Elementary School has received the Wisconsin School of Recognition Award for 8 consecutive years. The elementary school has also been recognized by the RTI center and the DPI for RTI Reading and PBIS at the bronze and silver levels. Check us out on social media to see all of the energy and excitement that is happening in Shell Lake with our extra-curricular opportunities, the amazing staff, our creativity, outstanding students and fantastic programming!
