Based on SAE programs, this is one of the most diverse award categories offered by FFA. Whether you start your own small business, are employed in an agribusiness or produce agricultural commodities, almost every possible SAE program is covered in one of the proficiency award areas. With so many options from which to choose, one or more will seem like they were designed joust for you.
Proficiency awards are split into two general categories, entrepreneurship and placement. In a nut shell, if you work for someone else whether for payment or experiance, at school or off-campus, you're elegible for the placement awards. If you own your own business or agricultural production enterprise, you're elegible for the enterpreneurship awards.
Awards in placement and enterpreneurship for each of the areas will be provided as participation merits and funding becomes available. however, not all award areas will be available every year. Check with your advisor to see which to see which awards are available in your state this year.
